I’d like to welcome you to Creative Inspiration Journey School (CIJS). I’m one of the owners of CIJS. I was born in Ohio, but moved to Maryland as a young child. I found myself back in Ohio during my latter high school years, where I graduated in the small town of Bellefontaine. I didn’t travel very much as a child with the exception of our family lake home in Michigan, which is my favorite place to be. Our cottage brings many memories since it has been in our family since the early 1920’s. While I enjoyed living in Ohio, 2011 brought my family a life changing event as we moved to the beautiful Sunshine State. My three wonderful children, who are my world, took the plunge with me and moved to the Central Florida area.
Educating has been my passion since I was five. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. During my career, I babysat, worked in child care facilities, operated my own in-home learning center and taught in the public schools until 2013. Upon my departure, traveling became a big part of my life. I began flying across the country looking at Reggio Emilia schools and forming collaborative/strategic relationships with educators world-wide.
In September of 2014, I became the founder and co-owner of Creative Inspiration Journey School in Winter Springs, Florida. Our family-owned preschool/early elementary program quickly gained recognition due to our unique curriculum and philosophy. We accomplished many milestones that I am proud of, including becoming one of the few testing sites in the country for educational learning products at Lakeshore Learning. In addition, I was afforded the opportunity through invitation to be a guest speaker at the Orlando Disney Convention for the National Association of Gifted Students in November of 2016.
I am excited to bring a world renowned quality educational program to Central Florida and enthusiastic to be a part of the Winter Springs community. Collaboration is the key to success, and I look forward to learning together with you and your child.
